As a mother of three, I have gone through my share of pacifiers over the years. My baby shower was enough to assemble a small collection of 20 binkies in just about every color and texture. I can well remember that in the expert opinions of my baby girl (and I’m talking about 4-5 years ago) the JollyPop Pacifier was the clear winner.
Get a Grip
Question: What’s the average lifespan of a soother? Answer: However long it takes for you to buy it and for your baby to drop it in the grass at the park. I cannot overstate the importance of buying a binkie that is easy for your baby to grip! My daughter was able to grab hold of the wide ring of her JollyPop Pacifier and hang on to it for hours.
The first JollyPop Pacifier I bought for my daughter was a soothing shade of seafoam green. I can’t say for sure, but it seemed like the soft color had a calming effect on her. The only trouble was that it blended in easily with her blankets. We switched to a soother with contrasting colors – a white inner guard with a bright lavender trim. The bright purple and contrasting colors definitely made it easier to spot at a distance.
The Nose Knows
We got a little adventurous with my daughter and decided to buy her one of JollyPop’s vanilla scented varieties. I can’t say that this one was such a hit, although her nephew seemed to like it, so we gave it to him.
The Soothing Sound of Silence
After weeks of experimenting with soothers (from glow in the dark orthodontic soothers to binkies with plushies attached), my daughter really seemed to like her JollyPop Pacifier. As for me, I like it being 100% silicone and pretty affordable. Best of all, though, are the little oases of blissful silence brought to us during the day by this little binky.
