Looking for a place where your child can get a first-hand experience of wildlife? Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens is the place for that.
This zoo is a home to a plethora of animals from all kinds of habitats across the world. You can find there amphibians, rare birds, mammals, predators, reptiles, herbivores, animals from the rainforests of the Americas and a Lair which includes stunning endangered species from tropical jungles, deserts and other types of environments.
The zoo also offers a rich educational program for the whole family, including a sleepover program with special night activities, guide walks and even a continental breakfast. The family program offers a safari day. A scout program will enable children to learn about the operation of the zoo.
Special activities comprise giraffe feeding, hippo encounter, Rescue Zone in which children learn what it takes to protect endangered species and more. In addition, you can also organize special events at the zoo, including a birthday party and other types of private events.
Opening hours: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. all year long (apart from December 25).
Giraffe feeding 11 a.m. -1 p.m. and 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. every day
Admission fee: Adults – $21, Seniors – $18, Children (2-12) – $16, Toddlers (under 2) – free. It’s possible to buy ticket online here.
